Man, that title was a mouthful!
I’ve been subscribed to the Julep Maven subscription box for over a year now, however, the past few months, I’ve been skipping my box for various reasons. This month I decided to get the box for two reasons. One: I realized I had enough “jules,” which are essentially points you earn for taking boxes, having a birthday, or having a Julep anniversary (being subscribed for a full year), to get a FREE BOX! Two: I’ve been looking for a darker blue nail polish color, and one of the boxes this month had it! (Disclaimer: Since I’ve been subscribed for a while, I get the option to skip months, however, they recently updated their skip policy for new subscribers, so I’d read over that if you join now!)
If you don’t know what Julep Maven is, I’ll explain. Each month on the 20th, a new collection of nail polish and beauty items are released. You have the option of picking one of their already curated boxes, or customizing your own box. They give you 4 days to decide what you want and lock it in on your account. If you choose month-to-month, your box each month is $24.99. You also have the option of locking in for 3-months, and that will bring your cost to $19.99 a month. They send you over $40 dollars worth of products each month, so either way, it’s a great deal!
This month, I went with the Bombshell box, which is also what my style profile says I should get each month (unless I choose to have a different box instead).
What I got this month:
Eliana: soft denim crème ($14)
First of all, I work for a company that is rooted in denim, so when the description of this polish included the word “denim,” I was sold. Second, it’s that dark blue I was mentioning earlier!
Kirby: silver jagged glitter topcoat ($14)
I’m not overly thrilled with glitter topcoats anymore, but this polish will definitely come in handy during all the winter holidays when I’m trying to be festive! And I will admit, it does look kinda cool. It gives me an 80’s vibe when placed on top of Eliana.
Plush Pout Lip Crayon in Magenta Plum Crème ($20)
Honestly, I wasn’t too excited about this when I saw it was coming in my box, because I’ve had many issues with actual lip color by other brands. Mainly because I feel like most lip colors highlight the fact that I always have chapped lips! When I opened this up, I decided to try it right away, and I was pleasantly surprised. I LOVE this stuff! I want all the colors now!! It’s nourishing (like it says it is), and it is also very pigmented. It isn’t sticky, it smells slightly like vanilla, and it stays on your lips for a long time. Really, there’s nothing negative I can say about this stuff.
They also sent 2 pieces of hard candies, which I haven’t tried yet, but I’m sure they taste just fine.
Are you subscribed to the Julep Maven Subscription Box? If so, what box did you get this month? Let me know!
