So this might be the saddest “What I Ate Wednesday” to ever exist. It was quite a dreary day here for the majority of the day, and I woke up this morning around 4:30am with a sore throat. I ended up not being able to get back to sleep, so I got up and went to the grocery store when all the extreme couponers happen to shop. The first thing I had this morning, was a cough drop. Delicious. (Not really.) I also drank half a glass of apple juice because I thought that would make my throat feel better, but it didn’t really. I went back to sleep for a bit, because my cough drop + empty stomach didn’t sit too well.
Breakfast
When I finally decided to have a legitimate breakfast, I made myself a cup of hot Earl Grey tea, a bowl of Quaker Oats apple cinnamon oatmeal, and a slice of warmed cheese danish.
Lunch
At work, I sucked on cough drops all day, and I think that really made me not as hungry as I normally am come lunch time. For lunch, I ordered a half of a spring mix salad with apples, cucumbers, cheddar cheese, and chick peas, with balsamic vinaigrette dressing from Crisp. I only ate half of it, because I just wasn’t really feeling hungry. I also had a couple snicker-doodle cookies from work. I also drank water throughout the day. Ya know, just trying to stay hydrated.
Dinner
My dinner was noodle soup in chicken broth, even though it looks like it’s just the broth. It was one of those soups that comes in small packets that you add water too and make on the stove. They are my “go to” soup for when I’m feeling sick/have a cold. And yes, I ate it out of my french onion soup bowl (because I love this bowl from Crate + Barrel), and I used my happy little carrot spoon that I got from the Grand Asian Market in Cary a few years back. I also drank a hot tea…this time it was Tazo tea called Calm. It feels like this tea was made specifically for people with sore throats.
See. Pretty sad. No real snack times, and nothing too exciting because my body does not feel great. Hopefully all of you had a wonderful Wednesday and are not getting sick like me!
Bows and arrows,
Lynda
