My Weekend in Pictures 10/24-10/26

I was originally supposed to be out of the state this weekend, however, that did not happen, so I spent my weekend relaxing around Raleigh.  Here are some tidbits from my weekend.

Gabi attempting to be friendly with her new roommate, Luna.  And by friendly, I mean, she sat close to her for approximately 5 minutes.

The beautiful sunrise on Friday morning.  I love waking up early on days off to enjoy the whole day…even if I do take a mid-afternoon nap!

Ending my Sunday night with pumpkin spice coffee and a pumpkin donut from Dunkin’ Donuts while burning the last bit of soy wax from my P.F. Candle Co. candle.

I hope everyone has a great last week of October…can you believe it’s almost November?!

Bows and Arrows,

My Week in Pictures 8/11-8/17

This past week was not a typical week for me. I spent Monday and Tuesday working at a store other than my home store and then had almost a week off! Just for fun, here is a glimpse of my week in pictures, with limited verbage!  Enjoy!!

 2014-08-12 08.31.55

Received the cutest little card from Kelsey, a friend of Ashley and myself, thanking me for her baby shower gifts!

I didn’t want the waitress to know it was my birthday, but once I realized I got a cannoli out of the deal, I was game.  Cannolis are my absolute favorite dessert, and the best ones I’ve ever had are at Bella Monica!  Oh, and what a cute little birthday cake stamped onto the table!

My Day in Pictures, 7/12/14

Just a quick peek at what my Saturday looked like!

I met some friends, David and Rachel, at Quality Grocery in the historic Oakwood neighborhood in downtown Raleigh for breakfast.  I had a bacon biscuit and some coffee and it was delicious!  I also shared a hash brown with my boyfriend as well.  I definitely recommend trying it out if you haven’t already.

We then went to the State Farmer’s Market and I purchased some bakery goods from Annelore’s German Bakery!  I just ate my apple strudel for breakfast this morning, and now I’m kinda upset that I didn’t get one for each day of the week!  The pastry was just the right amount of fluffy and crispy, and it wasn’t overly sweet like some people make them (with all that added sugar).  Rachel told me that instead of the bakery using all of that added sugar other bakeries use, they actually use local honey from one of the vendors at the farmer’s market to sweeten their bakery goods!  Yum!  I also purchased a Chocolate Raspberry Tulip (which my boyfriend ate and said was tasty), and a Chocolate Pistachio Shortbread (which i haven’t tried yet, but I’m sure is just as good!).

Later in the day, my boyfriend and I went to the Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham and after walking around a bit, had lunch at Zinburger.  I had a Plain and Simple burger and a glass of Riesling.  Michael had their specialty burger, The Brooklyn, which was loaded with pepperoni, smoked mozzarella, onions, peppers, and a few other things.  He loved it.  I’m not typically a burger person, but my lunch was quite tasty.  We also shared some onion rings dipped in BBQ sauce.

We stopped by Nordstrom Rack and I tried on these crazy shoes, because why not.

2014-07-12 16.34.27

Also, Gabi was patiently waiting and trying to be cute for her ‘walkie time.’  We went on a walk to feed the turtles, and our snapping turtle friend decided to come up to the murky water surface just long enough for me to get a photo of him (or her).

Hopefully all of you also had a great weekend!

Bows and Arrows,

My Weekend in Pictures 6/6-6/8

Since I’ve been MIA lately, I decided to post something short and sweet so you guys still know I exist.

Celebrating National Donut Day with a glazed donut from Dunkin'

I had to have a donut before National Donut Day was over, so we went through the Dunkin’ Donuts Drive Thru in Cedar Point at 11:30pm.

I love going to local coffee shops where ever I am.  Stir It Up was awesome.  If you’re ever in Emerald Isle, definitely stop there.  I did just get hot brewed coffee, so I can’t speak for their speciality beverages, but the coffee was yummy!  They also use certified organic and fair trade beans.  Thumbs up for that!

Gabi was not sure what she was walking out on when we went out on the dock at midnight, but she did love walking out there during the day time.

I don't share my popsicles. Especially the banana flavored ones!

I have to have some sort of seafood when I go to the beach.  It’s a must.  These crabs were delicious!

We got more coffee from Stir It Up before our trip back to Raleigh.

Food Truck Rodeo, Raleigh, NC

So you’re mainly just seeing a tree…but there are a lot of food trucks behind that tree.  I didn’t really think to take pictures until after we were back in the parking deck.  But if you had to guess which food truck I ate at, which would you think it was?  It’s not hard to figure it out, since I’ve mentioned it many times in previous posts!

That’s not all I did this weekend…those are just some of the moments I chose to capture.  I hope everyone had a great and sunny weekend!  Have an awesome week!

P.S.:  You should binge watch Orange is the New Black if you haven’t already, and also, go see Maleficent.

Bows and Arrows,

My Day in Pictures, 4/26/14

I began my day with a morning walk with my dog child.  We walked on Centennial Campus.  Here’s the trail we went down on this gorgeous day!
2014-04-26 10.29.35

Gabi stopped for a second to nom on some grass.  She loves standing in tall grass.
2014-04-26 10.38.47

We walked down to Lake Raleigh through a wooded area.  Gabi’s face was covered in pollen, and I was lucky enough to walk into a spider web.  Unfortunately for you guys, there is no image of that.

2014-04-26 10.46.24

Then I met up with Ashley Pants and we went to Brewgaloo in Downtown Raleigh!  We took some selfies because that’s what the anti-socials like us do in public areas.  We have to document that we do socialize at least once every month. :p

2014-04-26 16.57.42

I had Chirba Chirba for lunch! (Remember this from one of my WIAW’s?!)

2014-04-26 16.13.32

Here is some beer!  Because that’s one of the things Brewgaloo is all about!

2014-04-26 16.55.40

These guys are randos that came up to Ashley and I and asked for me to take a picture of them.  With my phone.  So I obliged because at this point, many people downtown were drunkies.  And what do you know, they get featured on our blog because why not?  It was random and part of my day, so yeah.

2014-04-26 17.36.41

Here’s a token!  With this token, I get beer.  Well, in my case, I got a cocktail made with gin from TOPO, which was fan-freaking-tastic!  And so refreshing.

2014-04-26 17.24.39

I purchased two cupcakes from the Not Just Icing food truck, but didn’t eat any of them until I got home.  The Sea Salted Caramel one was so good, but I saved my vanilla with cookie dough for later.

2014-04-27 18.26.10

And this was my dinner.  If you know me, you know I don’t like potatoes.  But there was this food truck called Stuft, which makes stuffed baked potatoes, and after trying some from two of our friends, I decided that I needed one!  It’s stuffed with meatballs and cheese.  So nom.

2014-04-26 18.44.48

Not a typical Saturday for me, but that’s what I did this Saturday!  Have an awesome week!

Lynda’s Day in Pictures, 4/11/14

Ashley and I have decided to start another weekly tradition here at A Bow and Arrow.  Each week, one of us will post “My Day in Pictures,” highlighting anything we wish to share from the day we so choose.  While it may be interesting for you to see what exciting, or sometimes mundane things we do during the day, it will also be a cool way for us to take the time and appreciate the things we do!  It’s nice to capture a moment in time, even if it’s something silly.  I (Lynda Lou) will be starting us off with my day in pictures from yesterday [Friday April 11, 2014].  So here we go!

I started off my day by driving my precious fur baby to the groomers.  Here is a snapshot from the ride there!

2014-04-11 10.36.30-1

This was the first time I got her groomed at the Petco groomers, and I’ve gotta say, they did a really great job!  While I was in Petco, I made her a new doggy tag, since her last one broke.

2014-04-11 11.26.15

Later that day, I took my tip change from the last two weeks from the coffee shop to the bank to deposit.  I keep it in a ceramic bowl I made in one of my classes from college.

2014-04-11 13.06.05

Then, I went grocery shopping, and piled ALL THE FOOD in the cart.  My boyfriend was with me so we kinda got a lot of stuff, but lots of healthy stuff, so it’s ok!

2014-04-11 14.46.15-1

Here is Gabi, post groom, with her cute little Easter egg bandana!

2014-04-11 15.16.01

I rode with my boyfriend to get his new phone, which he was in desperate need of, and I ate a banana on the way…but I broke it when I tried to open it, so here I am being all like WTF?! 😀

2014-04-11 15.57.47-3

Ba-ba-ba Ba-ba-na-naaaa! (You know, like the Minions say.  If you don’t, then click here.)

2014-04-11 16.00.33

Dinnertime rolled around, and I made spaghetti!  Nom.

2014-04-11 18.47.53

I did do more things throughout the day that aren’t highlighted in these photos, however, if I photographed everything, how would I be living in the moment? 😀

Bows and Arrows,

P.S. Tell us what you think about this new weekly post idea in the comments below!  Thanks for reading!
