What I Ate Wednesday, 10/1/14

It’s the first day of October! And it’s also a Wednesday, so you know what that means… I ate food today, and I took pictures of all of it for all of you beautiful people to see [my weird eating habits]. I’m posting so late tonight because today was one of those days I worked until 10pm, so that will explain my late night snacking and earlier than usual dinner time (which was at 4pm).

Breakfast2014-10-01 10.20.30

For breakfast, I had a small bowl of Cheerios, a toasted English muffin with I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter spread, and some walnuts. My drink was a cup of hot English breakfast tea and a teaspoon of organic Mascobado cane sugar.

Lunch2014-10-01 13.04.29

My lunch was the small amount of leftovers I had from my dinner last night, which was a chicken bowl from Chipotle with brown rice, black beans, cheese, and lettuce. I also had some Tostitos chips and Wholly Guacamole. I don’t know why, but I really wanted some orange juice, so that’s what I drank with my lunch.

Dinner

2014-10-01 16.16.24

Just to keep the ball rolling with my leftovers, I brought dinner from home to eat at work, which happened to be leftovers from dinner on Monday night. My leftovers were the remainder of my sirloin steak and steak fries from Firebirds. I’m weird, and I didn’t drink anything with my dinner at all. But fear not, I drank water throughout the day!  Also, that’s a really crappy picture.  Sorry about it. :/

Late night snack

2014-10-01 22.28.51

A bowl of Cheerios! Yay! This is what happens when you get home at 10:30 at night and your stomach is growling. You just find the fastest thing you can eat, and for me, that was either pickles, or Cheerios.   So I went with the Cheerios. Although, I could totally have eaten the pickles, too. Oh, and then, after I finished the bowl of Cheerios, I ate another bowl. And the little cup behind my bowl is just filled with more water. With minions on it. 🙂

That was kind of a sad what I ate Wednesday, but it is what it is. Hopefully next time around, I’ll endulge myself in more fall themed foods!

Have a great Thursday!

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 9/17/14

Happy Wednesday! Hopefully everyone has had a great start to their week and that wherever you are, it’s finally starting to feel like fall. Jumping right into what I had to eat today…

Breakfast

Today was one of my earlier workdays, and if you remember from my previous WIAWs when I worked early, I typically picked up something from somewhere like Bruegger’s or Starbucks on the way to work, but I actually gave myself enough time this morning to eat at home! Don’t worry…it was nothing spectacular.

2014-09-17 07.17.50

Breakfast was a bowl of Cheerios (the traditional kind, no special flavors or anything), a cup of English breakfast tea with a teaspoon of honey, and a small glass of Simply orange juice.

Mid-morning Snack

Well. I went to Starbucks. Sigh… I’ve been trying to not eat out as much to save money, but my tea just didn’t cut it when it came to keeping me awake this morning, so I had a small Americano with extra half and half. Oh, I’m sorry. “A Tall.” I also cut up an apple early in the morning for a snack, and clearly didn’t eat it until hours later, so yeah. I ate a slightly browned apple. It was still good, so I don’t care.

Lunch

My lunch consisted of a small bowl of leftover lasagna, a bottle of water, and some Boom Chicka Pop! kettle corn. So delicious.

Late Afternoon Snack

When I got home from work, I was hungry, so I snacked on some Tostitos dipped in a small snack size pack of Wholly Guacamole.

Dinner

As my side for dinner, I made a spring mix salad with some shredded cheese, cucumbers, and Italian dressing. My main course was chicken pasta with carrots, corn, and broccoli. I also had a glass of wine, but I only ended up drinking half of it.

After Dinner Snack

I ate some M&M minis as a snack after dinner. I didn’t even know they still made these, until I found a bag of them one night at Walmart. Ahh, nostalgia.

That’s all for my Wednesday noms. Have a great rest of your work week!

What I Ate Wednesday, 3/5/14

Today’s “What I Ate Wednesday” is brought to you by the letter “S,” for snack time, and the number 5, because that’s how many of them I had today.

But really though.

My schedule today was a bit different than usual, which led to my snacking whenever I was hungry.  I did actually get to make dinner though, but one solid meal is better than none!

2014-03-05 06.14.09

At about 6:30am, while I was at work, I made myself a cup of Hawaiian Hazelnut coffee with some half and half.  I ended up not finishing my entire cup, but I would guess that I drank about 12 oz.

Later in the morning, I had a packet of Apples & Cinnamon Quaker Oats Instant Oatmeal.

And then about an hour after that, I had a toasted mini whole-wheat bagel with about a tablespoon of Speculoo’s Cookie Butter (from my January Favorites) spread on it.  It was a pretty thin spread, so you can’t really see it in the picture.

2014-03-05 09.48.09

When I got home I grabbed the Tostito’s Scoops bag (essentially the first thing my hand touched when I opened the pantry) because my stomach was growling, and I wasn’t about to try to make something!  I’m impatient and just couldn’t wait.  I ate these with some leftover “Who is Kaiser?” salsa from Moe’s Southwest Grill.  I ate there the other day, and had extra salsa, so I just saved it, and what do you know, it came in handy!

A little later, while I was driving, I ate one of these Gogo Squeez Fast Fruits in the flavor Apple Peach Passion Fruit.  Go ahead.  Judge me.  Everyone that has ever seen me eat one of these does.  They are grossed out by the fact that I’m “drinking it”, but it is really just applesauce in a pouch.  Yes, I am like a kid sometimes.  And yes, I did discover these from the Chick-Fil-A kids meal.

2014-03-05 13.42.20

After I walked my dog child, I ate some peaches!  I also made myself some hot Earl Grey tea (from my February Favorites) with 1 ounce of Torani vanilla syrup, and about 3 ounces of cold low fat organic milk.  So delicious!

Dinner

And here we arrive at dinner!  An actual meal; what you’ve all been waiting for!

Since I am going out of town on Saturday, my boyfriend and I decided it would be a good idea to just hold off on trying to grocery shop at all this week, so I had to work with what I had on hand already.  This is usually exciting for me because it means I get to create a new recipe!  Which is exactly what I did…and it turned out great! I’ll just go ahead and call it Baked Teriyaki Pineapple Chicken with rice.  I’ll post the recipe in the near future, but for now, here is a picture of the finished product.  The only thing I wish I had to add to this recipe would be green onion.  And maybe a bell pepper.  I also ate some sea salted edamame as my appetizer.  My drink with dinner was a glass of Simply Apple apple juice.  Because I’m such a child.

Dessert

I was getting crafty after dinner, so I decided to come up with an eggless cookie dough recipe, which ended up being pretty good.  It was yet again, with whatever I already had in my pantry.  I decided to make little phyllo cups of cookie dough for dessert and they were delicious.  I ate two five.  I will post the recipe later, but I will go ahead and warn you, they are not “healthy” in any way.  They are just as bad as the real thing, they just don’t contain eggs, so no salmonella poisoning! Yayy!  But OMG are they delicious!

So there you have it!  All the things I ate on this bleak March Wednesday.
