Hello beautiful weather! Where have you been all my life? Really though, there was freezing rain and ice in Raleigh just two weeks ago, and today it was sunny and 85 degrees! Now we are just going to be spoiled this week with the high 70, low 80-degree weather only to feel like it’s a bit cold outside next week when it only hits low 60s. But enough about the weather; on to what I ate today!
Let me just start off by mentioning my work schedule today, because it has an impact on my eating schedule. I opened at the coffee shop I work at and left from there to go to my other job after having an hour in between to change in the bathroom at work, eat, and drive. I left my house this morning a little after 5am, and got home today right at 4pm.
Pre-Breakfast (around 6am)
I drank a cup of Vanilla Nut coffee from work with half and half.
Breakfast (around 8am)
Just like my usual Wednesday’s, when I work at the coffee shop, I generally eat some oatmeal from a cup. This is the Quaker Instant Oatmeal in the flavor Cinnamon and Spice (no surprise there). I also made up a new drink at work and split the 10 oz with a co-worker for us to try, so there is my 5oz of it.
Brunch? (around 10:15am)
I guess this classifies as my lunch, but if that’s the case then I had two dinners, or two lunchs, so I’m just going to call this brunch. I will say that when I wake up before 5am in the morning, I tend to be more hungry throughout the day because I’m using more energy…
Yay, peanut butter and jelly! This is natural Jif peanut butter with all natural (no high fructose corn syrup) Smuckers grape jelly. I don’t know why, but I’ve been on a PB&J kick lately.
Late lunch (just after 4pm)
I got home, and I was starving! (BTW, according to Louis C.K. on the latest SNL, we shouldn’t say that, but I’m saying it anyway, so ha!) I made myself a grilled chicken wrap. For this wrap, I just heated up some grilled chicken strips and placed them in a multi-grain wrap with baby spinach, romaine lettuce, provolone cheese, and ranch dressing. I also had two carrot sticks and a small piece of cucumber, both dipped in ranch dressing. I made myself an Arnold Palmer to go with it (homemade sweet tea with Simply Lemonade).
Dinner (8:45pm)
For dinner, I had Neomonde! So delicious. Seriously, if you live in Raleigh, and you haven’t been to this hidden gem, you need to go now. Or else we can’t be friends. Just kidding (only kinda). I had two of their kabobs: one chicken and one beef. I also had a side of couscous salad and tabouli. Both are phenomenal. So much so, that when my boyfriend and I get food from there, we order it by the pound. Lucky me, I have more for my lunch tomorrow! My drink with dinner was Simply Apple apple juice.
Dessert
This is my current addiction. I just got it to try last week, and it’s probably the best gelato I’ve ever tried! I will say, it is on the more expensive side, but I have noticed that it is so indulgent and rich, that you don’t need much to satisfy your sweet tooth, so it does last for a while!
So there you have it! All my noms on this beautiful Wednesday!
Bows and Arrows,
Lynda
