What I Ate Wednesday, 6/3/15

Happy Wednesday! Lately, I’ve been trying to eat in more and out less. I was good today and I packed my breakfast and lunch so I didn’t have to buy anything at work. Getting right to what I ate today…

Breakfast

My breakfast was a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an English muffin. I also drank an orange juice and coffee with cream.

Lunch

Lunch was leftovers from the other nights dinner. Mac and cheese and half of a bruschetta burger. I drank water with my lunch.

Snack

After lunch, I had some snacks: strawberries and macarons. What better snack is there?!

Snack #2:

After I got home from work, I ate some Cheez-Its.

Dinner:

My dinner was leftovers from lunch at Ruby Tuesday yesterday with my mom and great uncle. So delicious! I drank an Earl Grey tea with my dinner as well as a bottle of water.

I hope everyone had a great Wednesday!

Bows and Arrows,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 5/13/15

I woke up early this morning, because even though I had off, I really wanted to make the most of my day. (Whether or not I actually did is a completely different story.) Tomorrow starts my journey into working 8 days in a row, before going out of town for a wedding in Philly. Please bear with me if I’m missing for a few days during my 8 day stretch…you can find me working or packing!  And get excited for my adventure diary in the upcoming weeks!

Breakfast:2015-05-13 08.35.47

I inhaled my breakfast this morning, and I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture for you all…it was really pretty too. I went to Benelux this morning for breakfast and had a medium cup of drip coffee with cream and a Belgian waffle topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and lots of strawberries! It was so delicious, and I didn’t even remember to photograph it until I was driving home. Sowwy.

Snack:2015-05-13 12.45.59

While I was waiting for my lunch to finish cooking, I snacked on some Pringles. I don’t know what my deal is with these, but I’ve been snacking on them a lot lately.

Lunch:2015-05-13 13.09.46

My lunch was a quinoa bowl with wilted spinach, garlic, and provolone cheese. I also drank a sweet iced tea.

Snack:2015-05-13 14.24.59

In between lunch and dinner, I snacked on some saltwater taffy from Trader Joes. I love saltwater taffy, and this is the place I can find it without breaking the bank.

Dinner:2015-05-13 21.12.04

My dinner was something you’ve seen on here before…a bruschetta burger! I also had a side of my chickpea salad. I drank water with dinner.

After dinner snack:2015-05-13 22.04.49

I decided to drink some chamomile tea and eat a peach for dessert. I wasn’t desperately craving a snack, but I needed to eat my peach before it went bad!

I’ll probably end up caving and making myself a s’more before I go to bed, but for now, this is what I’ve eaten today!

Thanks for stopping by,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 4/29/15

I hope everyone had a happy hump day! It’s that time to share with you what I ate today, so here goes!

Breakfast:2015-04-29 10.28.34

I slept in today since I didn’t have to work, and by the time I woke up, I didn’t really have much time to make breakfast before I left the house. I did however make myself a cappuccino using my Nespresso machine. I haven’t used it in a while, and I forgot how awesome it was!

Lunch: 2015-04-29 11.43.54

Since I didn’t have breakfast, I ate lunch a little early, which was leftovers from a few nights ago. I had Mongolian beef with white rice and water.

Snack:2015-04-29 15.42.11

For my snack this afternoon, I ate some snickerdoodle cookies, which I’ll share more about tomorrow!

Dinner:2015-04-29 19.54.11

I made bacon-wrapped filet mignon for dinner. My sides were steamed broccoli and wilted spinach and garlic rice. I devoured the majority of it before remembering to photograph it.

After Dinner Snack:2015-04-29 21.54.12

My snack after dinner was a cup of coffee and a bag of Skinny Girl popcorn while I watched TV.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Bows and Arrows,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 4/15/15

Happy Wednesday! It was gross outside all day today, and it was tax day (and I owed money, unfortunately), so it wasn’t the most wonderful day that ever was, but that’s ok, because there’s always tomorrow! Instead of me going on about how poor I am now thanks to tax season, I’ll just go ahead and let you guys know what I ate today.

Breakfast: 2015-04-15 10.26.51

I was off today so I got to sleep in. I slept in a bit later than I wanted to, so I had a late breakfast, which consisted of 2 small waffles topped with light butter, powdered sugar, and strawberries. I also drank a cup of coffee with non-fat creamer…and then had another cup.

Lunch:2015-04-15 12.49.44

Since I was home today for lunch, I decided to eat some leftovers from the fridge. I had a small Italian-style burger (recipe to come soon!) topped with my bruschetta blend and shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese (I skipped the bread). I also had a small corn on the cob as well as some garlicky green beans and a bottle of water.

Snack:2015-04-15 13.21.14

In between lunch and dinner, I snacked on some cheese Pringles and drank another cup of coffee.

Dinner:2015-04-15 18.50.43

Michael picked dinner up for us from Piola, a pizza restaurant nearby. I love their San Daniele pizza, which is topped with prosciutto. I ate half of my personal sized pizza, and had water with my dinner.

After Dinner Snack:2015-04-15 21.18.39

As I’m writing this, I’m drinking a hot English breakfast black tea. I may or may not snack on more Pringles before bed…but I’m not sure yet.

I hope everyone had a great Wednesday. Have a great rest of your work week…I’m off to work 5 days in a row now (tomorrow is like a Monday for me).

Bows and Arrows,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 3/11/15

I know how excited you are to find out what terrible things I put in my body this Wednesday! 🙂  Let me just preface by saying that if I didn’t consume the number of calories and carbs that I did today, at least once a week, I would probably be non-existent at this point.  It’s carb city over here, guys.

Breakfast2015-03-11 09.57.12

For breakfast, I didn’t have much at home to work with, so I left a bit early for work, and stopped by Panera Bread and picked up an Asiago bagel with cream cheese as well as a hazelnut coffee with cream.  Their Asiago bagels are becoming addicting!

Lunch2015-03-11 13.27.31

Yes.  You saw it correctly.  I had a frappuccino as part of my lunch.  I drank a tall caramel frappuccino outside in the great weather we had (before it started raining), and ate some leftover pasta I made for dinner the other night.  It was spaghetti noodles with a lemon sauce with shrimp and wilted baby spinach.  Yum! (The recipe will be on the blog soon!)

Snack2015-03-11 14.00.52

My snack to keep me awake during the afternoon was a decent amount of M&M’s as well as a Sprite. Gotta have that sugar high to keep me going!

Dinner2015-03-11 19.22.36

And as if I didn’t eat enough carbs already, my dinner consisted of even more!  We ordered Olive Garden take-out, and I tried the Prosciutto Tortellini Alfredo, which was really good.  I also had their classic salad and 2 breadsticks.

After Dinner Drink

After dinner, I made myself a Rum Chata Hot Chocolate with whipped cream on top.

So now you know what I mean…I had carbs for breakfast, carbs for lunch, and more carbs for dinner!  I do eat lots of pasta, but I usually break it up with something different…not so much today. 🙂  That’s ok though, because everything I ate today was delicious!

Bows and Arrows,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 2/25

Well, it’s snowing outside. Again. And this time we are expecting 5-8 inches. Which is actually a lot for central North Carolina. I had the pleasure of driving in it tonight, but now that I’m home, safe and sound, I’ll tell you what I ate today instead of ranting about how I want it to be spring already.

Breakfast

2015-02-25 09.05.53

I made a fast breakfast this morning. I had a plain bagel with butter and cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top, and a coffee with cream. Of course I was halfway finished with my bagel when I remembered to photograph it.

Lunch2015-02-25 12.20.10 2015-02-25 12.31.50

Man, I really do fail at eating lunch on days I start my workday at 1pm. For some reason, I neglect to think about eating until it’s time for me to get in the car and begin my commute. So lunch today was Chocolatey Cats Cookies dipped in Speculoo’s Cookie and Cocoa Swirl from Trader Joe’s and, wait for it…pretzels! So exciting right? Oh, and I also drank some H2O as well.

Snack2015-02-25 21.49.57

I actually had 2 of these. One of my co-workers made them and they were delicious. Chocolatey peanut butter graham crackery goodness!

Dinner2015-02-25 16.21.30

I picked up Panera Bread for dinner. Tortellini Alfredo with slightly sweetened tea, and more water.  It looks kinda gross in this picture but that’s because I used my iPhone and took it in my office at work, which offers zero natural light.  I swear it’s good though!

Snack2015-02-25 21.53.59

When I got home from work, right before I wrote this post, I ate my dinner roll from Panera that came with my lunch.  And of course I had to share a small bite of it with Gabi. 🙂

Now it’s time to get in my pj’s, cuddle up with my fur baby and watch the snow out my window as I fall asleep.

Bows and Arrows,

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 2/11/15

It’s Wednesday. And you know what that means. So let’s get right to it, shall we?

Breakfast

2015-02-11 09.12.37

I had today off, and while I could have made myself an extravagant breakfast, I was feeling lazy, and went with something fast and easy instead. I ate a plain bagel, toasted with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. I also ate the last one of my oatmeal bites, and I drank some coffee with fat-free half and half.

Lunch

2015-02-11 13.57.34

My lunch consisted of water and leftover shrimp Creole over white rice. The shrimp Creole was my own recipe that I made for dinner the other night. If you’re interested in how to make it, click here.

Snack

2015-02-11 14.48.52

This was my first time trying these, but when I was at the store today, they sounded too good to resist. They are actually really tasty, especially with the bits of sea salt sprinkled on top.

Dinner

2015-02-11 17.47.17

Michael picked up dinner on his way home from work. I had barbecue with Eastern NC sauce, cabbage, collard greens, and hush puppies from The Pit. And more water.

Snack

2015-02-11 20.56.02

Dinner was pretty early tonight, so I got hungry again around 9. I decided to snack on some cookie dough along with a cup of coffee. That’s right, so close to bedtime.

Thanks for taking the time to look at what I ate today! Stay tuned for a special Valentine’s DIY Treat tomorrow!

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 1/28/15

It’s that time again! The time where I publicly display what I consumed today through a series of terribly lit pictures. Yay! I know you are all so very excited.

Breakfast2015-01-28 08.36.27

Since I’m such a loyal member of the Starbucks near my job, I had a free beverage or food item loaded onto my gold card (I know, it sounds so fancy. Name on it, and all. You’re allowed to be jealous.). I went this morning and got a small coffee with half and half and one of their bacon, egg, and Gouda breakfast sandwiches. And all I paid for was the coffee.

 Lunch2015-01-28 14.00.40

I had leftovers for lunch at work today. My picture looks really sad, because I ate a good amount of it before I remembered to capture the moment. It’s rice, veggies, and there was some steak, but I devoured that as soon as it came out of the microwave. I drank some water too. Yay hydration!

Dinner2015-01-28 19.21.13

I was feeling lazy, and we also really need to go to the grocery store (more desperately than you think), so we ordered Papa John’s for dinner. Just your basic pepperoni pizza. Mmm meat, cheese, and carbs. I hydrated some more too.

Snack2015-01-28 19.24.24

Snack time! I ate the other half of my Videri dark milk chocolate bar and it was heavenly.

And now, I’m probably going to make myself some hot tea and watch some shows on Hulu before bed.

Thanks for reading!

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 1/14/15

Guess what’s back!?  What I Ate Wednesday!  I know you have all missed out on seeing what terrible (and not-so-terrible) things I’ve decided to put in my body.  Getting right to it, here’s what I ate today.

2015-01-14 09.36.25

I had breakfast at work today.  An apple and some instant oatmeal with cinnamon and allspice.  And of course I also had coffee!

2015-01-14 13.12.30

Lunch was also at work, but I brought it with me.  Water, lasagna, and a small salad with cucumbers, cheddar cheese, and Italian dressing.

2015-01-14 13.28.27

My sweet snack at work!  I may or may not have had more than 1 of these. 🙂

2015-01-14 14.07.36

Earl Grey tea from Teavana, sweetened with honey.

2015-01-14 18.53.24

Dinner was homemade lemon chicken orzo soup with a cup of Tazo Awake black tea.  It was quite cold outside today, so soup for dinner sounded like a good idea.  And don’t you love my little carrot soup spoon?! 🙂

2015-01-14 19.56.59

I got my January Pop Sugar Must Have box today (review to come soon!), and I ended up snacking on some of this peanut butter and dark chocolate granola because it was the closest food item to me after I ate dinner.

2015-01-14 21.34.33

The last thing I ate tonight was the remainder of what was in my “Just the caramel corn” bag.  So delicious, but not very nutritious.  😉

So, that’s what I ate today.  Have a great rest of the week!

Lynda

What I Ate Wednesday, 11/26/14

Man. What a day I had. It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and unlike a lot of people, I was not spending it traveling to a destination for the holidays. (Which is good for you guys, because if I did, you would see a bunch of fast food and things purchased from gas stations.) I actually spent 10 hours of my day at work (minus the 1 hour lunch break, but I was still there so it counts). And then I spent over an hour in my car, because I have to get to and from work in what I’ll call the ‘lovely holiday traffic.’

Once I finally got home, it actually dawned on me that tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and even though I know I’ll be at my boyfriend’s house with all of his family, I feel like I’m just now realizing that the holidays are here and I haven’t planned a thing.

So now I’m sitting here, giving all of you the details of my fabulous food choices today, the day before Thanksgiving. Exciting. I hope you don’t read this tomorrow after you’ve had your big meal. For me, reading, thinking, or seeing more food after I feel stuffed is slightly sickening. Anyways, moving right along…here’s the real reason why you’re here.

Breakfast:2014-11-26 09.36.41

I made myself a cup of hazelnut coffee this morning before I left for work and drank half of it on the way there. I drank the rest of it, along with a bottle of water, with a cinnamon bun from Daylight Donuts leftover from a work event. Yes, it was 3 days old, but I don’t care. I warmed it up, and it was still just as delicious.

Lunch:2014-11-26 13.41.34

Lunch was leftovers from dinner the other night. I made bowtie noodles with homemade meat sauce. I didn’t end up eating the entire container I brought for myself, just so you’re aware.

Dinner:2014-11-26 19.01.24

As if all the stuff I’ll be eating tomorrow isn’t going to be enough, I filled all my meals today with carbs. Great idea, Lynda. My dinner was cheesy bread dipped in marinara sauce from Marco’s Pizza. I really think it’s a thing to do before Thanksgiving…either eat out, or get pizza, because no one wants to make dinner tonight, when all you’re doing is preparing for tomorrow.

Snack:2014-11-26 19.26.09

After dinner, I made myself a cup of pumpkin spice coffee and ate some pie crust cookies (which I’ll be sharing with you very soon). And that’s it for today. As many carbs as I could fit into my body. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll make a few more healthy choices, however, I don’t forsee that happening. :p

So now might be a good time to let you know, WIAW will be no more. This is the last one! It’s been a full year that Ashley and I have posted the food we put in our bellies for you to see, and now is the time to let it rest. Food related posts will most definitely still occur, just no longer in this form. I hope everyone enjoyed our year long series, and are looking forward to what’s in store for A Bow and Arrow.

And just for fun, here’s a silly picture of my fur baby, Gabi!
